Does my Volkswagen Passat DSG have a dual mass flywheel?

I have a Volkswagen Passat diesel with DSG gearbox. I believe that you have suggested that there is less likelihood of damage to a DMF with an automatic gearbox. Does this apply also to a DSG? You have also said that the software employed in operating the DSG can cause a slight delay in 'pickup' when pulling away. I have experienced this and attributed it to turbo lag. Is this likely?

A torque converter automatic transmission does not normally need a dual mass flywheel because the torque converter does the job, but a DSG is a twin shaft twin clutch preselector automatic and does need a DMF to protect the transmission from too much sudden torque transfer. The hesitation is not due to ‘turbo lag'. The software does not allow more fuel into the engine if it thinks the brakes are still on. But residual fuel in the injectors will be enough to accelerate the car a few metres into the road or the roundabout where it temporarily (and very frighteningly) suffers a hesitation of a second or so.
