Is low mileage better?

I've been given the opportunity to buy an '09 Polo Match owned by a friends mother. She's an older lady so she's only done 3,000 miles in the car from new. I originally saw this as a bonus but it has been suggested that this may be a disadvantage. Am I right to be pleased or is this a cause for any concern?

Huge disadvantage. Most of its time the engine will have been running in oil contaminated by unburned petrol from her short runs from cold starts. The car is definitely not worth more than one with average mileage.
