How much should I really pay for the new Golf Estate?
I want to buy a new Golf Estate 1.4 TSI SE, but want to haggle for the best deal. The list price is £20,620, and with some extras is £21,503. I will be trading in my 2004 Golf Estate 1.6 SE, which has 40,000 miles and is in excellent condition. What sort of discount should I look for?

Trade price for your 2004 Mk IV 1.6SE estate is £1440 + £475 for the lower than book mileage = £1915. So think £2000, making the initial cost to switch £19,503. Try to get that down to £18,000.
