Hello.

Tank pump turned out to be sender unit only.

Why would there be fuel lines to the sender?

That’s where the fuel is drawn from and returned. Is there a rubber suction “bulb” on the fuel line in the engine bay ?

Hello,

Yes there is a bulb, after I had it disconnected and replaced the faulty "pump"

I primed by pumping till the bulb felt almost solid..my wife was at the tank end and said there was fuel whooshing.

Is there a low pressure pump thet feeds the hp side?

I have not read the codes so no idea if it's fuel pressure. It just felt like it, would have bet the farm.

Need to get new obd2 reader tomorrow.

Any ideas welcome.

If its got a hand primer bulb on the fuel line ,then there's no low pressure supply pump . Once you open up the fuel lines ,then there will be air in the system. This makes it very difficult to start. You may need to bleed the system via the low pressure return system at the hp pump. Check the codes first.

Depends how much you want to pay. £50-60 will get you something reasonable. Autel , topdon , Foxwell are all sensible machines.

Cheap "scan any car" readers can sometimes be useless on Peugeots and Citroens.

You need a Lexia / Diagbox scan.

You can find maps of fellow owners with the kit on peugeotforums.com and frenchcarforums.com

Hello again.

I have recovered code P1586.

Says "supply of the rail pressure sensor, the flow meter and the EGR valve copy : Supply voltage too low".

No idea where to start with this.

Used torque app and old dongle I eventually found.

Any advice how to progress here?

Presume there's a port to tap gauge into rail.

You should be able to get a pressure reading from your scan tool. If not , you’ll need a pressure gauge , these start around £350 .

Something is pulling the 5V reference down. Could be a failed component or a wiring problem. You could try unplugging the MAF and EGR (not all that easy) and see if that resolves the 5V fault and allows it to start. An almost identical fault: frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34404 turned out to be the EGR valve.
