Peugeot RCZ Diesel 2.0HDI - 2 injectors have broken their brackets twice. - 333transport

Any help ideas bodges appreciated.

What could cause it?

Could it be carbon getting past the injector seats and building up causing excess constant pressure to be applied to the brackets?

Have the injectors been taken out, were the seats properly cleaned and new washers/seals fitted before reassembly, have the injector pipes been taken off, on some other makes injector pipes are single use only (not sure what Peug advise) does the same apply to the brackets.

Thanks,for post.

Will check to make sure injector seats clean.

New washer,will be used,old removed.

Not sure how injector pipe would make a difference to injector clamp breaking,although I am a novice DIYer.

Also replace the clamp bolts and tighten to correct torque.

If blow by has been the case some thick carbonised muck will more than likely be found around the guilty injector seats unless very frequent oil changes have been the case.

If you do find thick gunge up around the injectors suggest you check the oil pick up strainer in the sump, you might be able to do this with an endoscope, any carbonised muck will find its way down and clog the strainer and the engine will be starved of oil.
