The Car: Mondeo 95N 1.8TD 130k
The Problem: Battery/No charge light pulses on & off whilst the engine idles, dissappers after raising engine speed.
Any help/similar experiences/suggesions much appreaciated .........

Probably the alternator brushes.
Remove the alternator and check the brush length remaining. If this is short, new ones can be soldered in for tiny cost.
Could also possibly be the diodes in the alternator.
If it is the brushes and you dont get it fixed soon it will wreck the diodes anyway.
This all depends if you plan to do any work yourself. A garage will probably just recommend a reconditioned alternator, at far more cost (but less hassle) than repairing the unit.
Another option is to remove the alternator yourself and get a local auto electric shop to repair the alternator. Normally costs £30 for this type of repair.
