Announced in the German Press VW are to build Polos in China and reimport them for the European market,they will probably come with a rice an noodle holder.Yaris built in Poland along with Deawoo and the new Pug plant is there going to anything left in the EU.Both Nissan and Renault are planning new plants in the East ,I think people should support Rover a bit more or the UK will have no industry left.

Could it be I wonder that labour is far, far cheaper in the East than the west.

Yes, I would consider buying a Rover - the 75.
The only car they make which is at all competitive.
