A dealer supplied me with a faulty clutch replacement - should I be able to seek immediate compensation?
I had a faulty clutch on my 2003 Vauxhall Vivaro. My local garage stripped the van and I supplied the clutch from a reputable dealer.The garage fitted the clutch and when it did not release they said it was faulty, they then fitted there own clutch and the van is working okay. I had to pay for two lots of fitting and two clutches. The supplier of the faulty clutch have agreed to send it to their insurance company, who will determine if it's faulty, then they will refund the price of the clutch and the cost of replacing the second clutch (almost £1000). I think they should pay my claim now because it was their fault part that caused the problem. Should I have to wait for my money back?

As usual the problem in a case like this is breaking the chain of liability. Never ever buy a component and pay a garage to fit it. Always have the garage supply the component. As it is you could be in a long wrangle and your remedy may be to make a "small claim" against whoever supplied the clutch to you: www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money/overview/
