We bought a van that turned out to be faulty - can we get our money back?

I bought a van from a dealer who said it had no warranty because it was part-exchange. After a month it has broken down and we are being told we should get the dealer to collect and give us our money back as it's not fit for purpose. Is this correct and where do we stand?

The dealer is legally liable for any faults that develop within the first six months of ownership, because they were either present or developing before you bought the van. I would suggest taking it back and demanding that the dealer fixes the problems or returns your money and vehicle that you part exchanged.
