What's the best cheap van to buy if i'm renovating a house?
I am about to start a house transformation and wanting to be hands on and keep costs down I thought I could buy a temporary van rather than use my car to take stuff to the tip. I want to ensure it meets a combination of not more than 2 metres high (to get in tip), fit 8x4 sheets, perhaps a bath as well as, cheap to buy, reliable, economical and easy to resell. I have about £3000 to £5000. What vehicles would you recommend?

I'd probably go with the old Ford Transit. I's easy to drive, practical and cheap to insure. There are also loads to choose from on the used market: vans.honestjohn.co.uk/van-reviews/ford/transit-200.../
Spend £5000 and you'll get you a sub-100,000 mile van in good condition, with a full service history and clean interior. However, there’s also plenty of choice around the £2000 marker. Given the potential knocks and bumps the van will take in the process of the house rebuild, I'd aim at the lower end of the market - that way you won't lose lots of money if you accidentally dent the load area or scuff a bumper.
