Is an LPG converted motorhome a good used buy?

I want to buy a motorhome second hand. Would you recommend an engine that runs on LPG rather than petrol or diesel?

LPG isn’t something we'd recommend for a used camper van. The costs will be huge if anything goes wrong and the LPG engine will still use petrol, which compromises the fuel savings over the long term. You'll also be subject to a number of restrictions when it comes to taking your camper van abroad. Euro Tunnel, for example, refuses to carry any LPG vehicles - even if the gas tank is empty.
