Is a petrol van a viable alternative to diesel?
I need to buy a second-hand medium sized van (1500kg load) for my business, but as I need an engine with some power should I go for diesel bearing in mind the new M0T regulations, or is there a good petrol engine model that will do the job?

Petrol engines in large vans tend to be expensive, both to buy and fuel. And unless you cover lots of short runs on the day-to-day, we'd recommend choosing a Euro6 diesel. Not only will this provide affordable running costs, but you'll also be exempt from urban pollution charges. A Ford Transit Custom with the 170PS 2.0 diesel will provide plenty of power and carry 1200-1460kg, depending on bodystyle.
