Should I avoid a used campervan that has eight previous owners?

What should I be looking out for when buying a Volkswagen T5 camper with 116,000 miles on the clock? It has eight previous owners and very little MoT and service history. The body is very good condition, it just makes me wonder why so many owners, is it just best to leave alone? It's up for £15,000.

Campers are usually cherished by their owners, which means even the cheapest vans are sold with a comprehensive folder of service documents, receipts and old MoTs. If this van has no history then it suggests the van has been mechanically neglected or the seller is trying to hide something. Either way, we'd avoid it and find something else.
