Vauxhall Combo van cam chain replacement

I am debating changing the cam chain, tensioner etc on my 2006 Vauxhall Combo 1.3CDTI. It has done 145,000 miles and has very little history. The van needs a blip of throttle to start, the van drives fine and will shift when floored.

I've never had a cam chain diesel engine before and I would like to know what sort of sounds I'm looking for in regards of a stretched chain, bad gears etc. The van could do with a service but I'm trying to find out if the chain needs replacing and if so will be dropping the sump etc to fit the new kit.

This little 1250cc FIAT Multijet engine is doing well. So it's essential the job is done properly by someone who has done it before at least half a dozen times. Not someone who has never done it before.
