Vauxhall Vivaro problems

I own a Vauxhall Vivaro van with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The vehicle is displaying a DF059 fault code, which states the particle filter is absent. What does this mean?

We would think that the code is indicating a problem with a missfire on cylinder number 1. Check the injector wiring first as removing of injectors on this engine can at times be rather difficult.
