Fiat replaces Scudo with all-new Talento

Fiat has unveiled the new Talento. The panel van will replace the Scudo in Fiat's commercial line-up and share its underpinnings with the Renault Trafic. Order books open in May and prices are expected to start in the region of £18,000.
Details on engines and specs are still sketchy at the moment, but Fiat has confirmed that the Talento will be powered by a range of turbo and twin-turbo diesel engines. The four-cylinder powerplants will offer up to 145PS and be linked to a six-speed manual as standard.
Built in France alongside the Renault Trafic, the Talento will be offered as a panel van, flatbed and people carrier. There are no details on payloads yet, but expect the Talento to closely mirror the Trafic's specification, with twin-sliding doors fitted as standard and the option of two body lengths and heights.
Like its Renault relative, the Talento should be good for carrying items of up to 3.75 metres (L1 version) or 4.15 metres (L2) in length. Load capacity should also range from 5.2 to 8.6 cubic metres. The exterior styling will be similar to that of the Renault Trafic, although the Fiat version will get a slightly different grille, bumper and headlight configuration.
