Fiat Fullback Cross unveiled

Fiat has launched a new edition of its one-tonne double cab pick-up. The Fullback Cross gets a number of styling updates over the standard model, with black alloy wheels, sidesteps and loadbars. It will go on sale in the summer with prices expected to start from £25,000 (excluding VAT).

Based on the Mitsubishi L200, the Fiat Fullback Cross features black detailing, with a matt grille, black sidestep, shaded alloy wheels and sports bars. The cargo space protector is also all-black, with Fiat claiming that the sleek, dark design will give the Fullback more appeal with the growing lifestyle-end of the pick-up market.

Under the metal the Fullback is offered with just one engine, the 2.4-litre turbodiesel with 180PS and 430Nm of torque from 2500rpm. The four-cylinder diesel will carry a one-tonne payload and tow up to 3.1 tonnes when hooked-up to a braked trailer.

There are two transmissions available: a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. As with the standard model, the Cross edition gets selectable four-wheel drive, with an electronic dial making it easy to switch from two-wheel to all-wheel drive while on the move.

Based on the range-topping LX trim, the Fullback Cross is loaded with kit as standard, with xenon headlights, cruise control, leather seats, dual zone climate control and heated front seats. The driver’s seat also gets six-way electric adjustment, while the dashboard is dominated by a seven-inch touchscreen with navigation, DAB audio and a rear-view camera.
