MS-RT to launch high octane Transit Connect

The Ford Transit Connect is getting a high performance makeover; courtesy of Welsh performance styling company MS-RT. Priced from £23,995 (excluding VAT) the MS-RT Transit Connect goes on sale in September and gets a full race spec bodykit and leather interior.

The MS-RT Transit Connect is the second van to get the high octane treatment, inspired by Ford’s works-backed rally team M-Sport, with the MS-RT Transit Custom going on sale in 2018.

The new model mirrors the styling of the larger Transit Custom, with the MS-RT Transit Connect getting a stainless steel sports exhaust system, 18-inch OZ Racing alloy wheels with a carbon inlay sports steering wheel and a hand-made nappa leather and suede interior.

The bodykit includes a uniquely styled front bumper, grilles, front diffuser, side skirts, rear bumper, rear diffuser and spoiler.

The van will be priced at £23,995 with a six-speed manual gearbox, or £24,995 with automatic transmission (before VAT) with all being powered by Ford’s standard 1.5 EcoBlue turbodiesel engine with an expected 120PS.

All versions will come with LED load space lighting, a premium infotainment pack with navigation and a reversing camera, xenon headlights and twin side loading doors. A long-wheelbase version and double cab will be introduced in late-2019.

Options include an upgrade to bronze alloy wheels, a Maxhaust exhaust system with app-controlled soundtrack, a rally sticker pack, black exhaust tips and a full carbon steering wheel option. Buyers also get

Unlike some modified vans, the MS-RT Transit Custom is fully approved by Ford and backed by the standard manufacturer three-year/100,000 mile warranty - which means owners can have servicing and maintenance work done at their local approved dealer.
