Iveco to be sold off to JLR owner Tata

Tata Motors is to acquire Iveco’s van and truck business in a €3.8bn (£3.3bn) deal, acquiring all assets of the Italian commercial vehicle maker other than its defence business.
The company will maintain its Turin headquarters and says there are no plans to change any of its recent new product announcements, including the Iveco eJolly and Iveco eSuperJolly announced recently under a new joint venture agreement with Stellantis.
According to the Tata, the combined group will have a major global presence, annual revenues of around £19bn and sales of more than 540,000 units a year.
The transaction is expected to complete in the first half of 2026, with 50% of its vehicle sales in Europe, around 35% in India and the rest in emerging markets. As part of the deal, all of Iveco’s Italian business operations, including the factory, will remain.
Suzanne Heywood, chair of Iveco Group, said: "We are proud to announce this strategically significant combination, which brings together two businesses with a shared vision for sustainable mobility. Moreover, the reinforced prospects of the new combination are strongly positive in terms of the security of employment and industrial footprint of Iveco Group as a whole"
