Volkswagen adds BlueMotion tech to Transporter range

Volkswagen has introduced BlueMotion versions of the Transporter panel van, Kombi and people carrier ranges, improving fuel economy and increasing maximum range.

Prices start at £17,290 (Plus VAT) for the 2.0 114PS BlueMotion panel van, which has combined cycle economy of 44.8mpg and emissions of 166g/km. That’s an improvement of 7.1mpg and a reduction of 32g/km over the standard 102PS or 84PS model.

BlueMotion technology is also offered on the 84PS and 114PS versions of the Transporter and when specified improves economy by 2.7mpg over the standard model. The improvements come from the use of battery regeneration, stop/start, low rolling resistance tyres and cruise control.
