Custom Sport adds spice to new Transit range

Ford will be sexing-up the 2013 Transit with its new Custom Sport. The new range-topper model follows in the footsteps of the previous Sport, offering the same blend of extrovert styling, performance and practicality. Expect it to see it in an outside lane near you from early 2013.

Sport Vans are powered by a Dagenham-built 2.2-litre Duratorq diesel engine, delivering 155PS (153bhp) and 385Nm (285lb ft) of torque. All vehicles also feature a short-wheelbase van bodystyle, with a 2.9-tonne gross vehicle weight.

The Ford Transit Custom Sport Van is an eye-catching proposition. It features a body kit and a fully colour-coded exterior, with body-colour bumpers, side mirrors, door handles and body-side mouldings. It also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels on low profile 235/50 tyres - and the finishing touch of twin bonnet stripes, a carry-over from the 2007 Sport.

It's also sporting inside, with part-leather trim finished in charcoal black. Other equipment includes Ford SYNC voice-activated, in-car connectivity package and a DAB audio system.

The Transit Custom Sport Van will be available to order in early 2013.
