First images of Toyota's new Proace van
Toyota has released images of its new van, the Proace, which replaces the long lived Hiace. You might recognise the styling - it's essentially a rebadged version of the Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch.
The new van, which goes on sale in the UK April, will be built in Northern France. The agreement between PSA Peugeot Citroen and Toyota reflects the deal that brings us the Aygo, Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107. It will join the similar Peugeot Expert, Citroen Dispatch and Fiat Scudo in the medium van market.
The Proace will be available in two lengths and heights, with load capacities between five and seven cubic metres. Payloads will range from one to 1.2 tonnes and Proace will be able to tow up to two tonnes. Euro 5 diesel engines with outputs from 90PS to 163PS will be offered.
In addition to its standard form, the Proace can also be specified as a panel van, glass van, or six-seat crew cab. A wide range of dedicated accessories will allow customers to tailor their vehicle to suit a broad range of businesses.
