Volkswagen improves Transporter BlueMotion
Volkswagen has improved its Transporter BlueMotion with a range of changes that see economy increase to 48.7mpg with CO2 emissions of 153g/km.
Powered by the familiar 2.0 TDI common rail diesel engine with 114PS and 250Nm of torque, the Transporter BlueMotion, which is only available as a panel van, has a modified engine management system and gearbox.
Other changes include low rolling resistance tyres, engine start/stop and a battery regeneration system. The tweaks mean economy improves by 3.9mpg over the previous BlueMotion and thanks to its 80-litre fuel tank has a theoretical range of more than 850 miles.
