Volkswagen launches Caddy Black Edition

Volkswagen has unveiled a special Caddy Black Edition which goes on sale on October 1. The limited run Black Edition comes with Deep Black pearlescent paint as standard along with polished 17-inch alloys, siler roof rails and a lowered ride height. Available as a short-wheelbase panel van only, it's priced at £17,860 excluding VAT.
Despite the looks it will still be economical thanks to a 1.6 TDI engine under the bonnet. The 102PS unit has 250Nm of torque and averages a claimed 55.4mpg thanks to BlueMotion technology which includes an engine start/stop system.
Based on the Highline trim, the Black Edition is the most luxurious Caddy ever produced with leather and Alcantara seats, a multifunction steering wheel, leather gear lever, heated door mirrors and climatatic air conditioning. It also comes with a full-height solid bulkhead.
This extra equipment represent a cost of £2150 but buyers will be saving £1350. The Caddy Black Edition does on sale in October 1 and is available until the end of 2014. The Caddy is the first Volkswagen commercial vehicle to come as a Black Edition so we can expect similar Amarok and Transporter versions in the near future.
