Volkswagen launches Amarok Ultimate edition

Published 05 January 2015

Volkswagen is celebrating the start of the new year in the traditional way - by launching a special edition model. The new Amarok Ultimate is, according to Volkswagen, the most luxurious version of the pick-up to date.

It's limited to 500 vehicles and comes with 19-inch Aragonit alloy wheels, double chrome strips on the radiator and for the first time on the Amarok, LED daytime running lights. It also gets darkened tail lights, extra chrome detailing and side decals.

Two colours are available, Reflex Silver or Deep Black while there's only one engine choice, the top 2.0 BiTDI 180PS which has a maximum towing capacity of 3200kg. A six-speed manual gearbox with selectable 4Motion comes as standard or there's an optional eight-speed automatic with permanent 4Motion.

On sale now, list prices start from £29,555 (excluding VAT) for the manual Amarok Ultimate and rise to £30,970 (excluding VAT) for the automatic model.

Inside, the Amarok Ultimate comes with Alcantara-trimmed seats, a leather multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats, Bluetooth, navigation and a reversing camera.
