Fiat launches new Fullback pick-up

Published 10 November 2015

Fiat has revealed its new pick-up - the Fullback. And unusual name aside, if it looks familar that's because it's based on the latest Mitsubishi L200. It will go on sale in the UK in autumn 2016.

No prices or specification have been revealed yet, but like the L200 there will be just one version available - a double cab which comes in two trim levels. Prices are expected to start at around £24,000 on the road including VAT.

Power comes from the Mitsubishi-sourced 2.4-litre diesel available with either 150PS or 180PS. The standard gearbox is a six-speed manual while a five-speed automatic will be optional. Both get a full four-wheel drive system while the maximum payload is 1045kg.

While the Fullback is clearly based on the L200, it does get its own grille design and slightly tweaked rear lights. Inside, the Fiat is pretty much identical to the Mitsubishi aside from the badge on the steering wheel.
