Fiat renews van range with £20,854 Talento
The Fiat Talento is now on sale from £20,854 (excluding VAT). The panel van will replace the Scudo in the Fiat Professional line-up and be offered in nine body styles, with people carriers, crew vans and a LWB platform cab. The Fiat Talento should reach showrooms by September.
Based on the Renault Trafic and Vauxhall Vivaro, the Fiat Talento is offered with the same 1.6-litre turbo and twin-turbo diesel engines, with outputs varying from a respective 95PS to 145PS. All engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard and claimed economy will be up to 47.9 mpg.
The Talento is available in a broad choice of body styles, with low and high roofs, and short or long wheelbases. As with the Trafic, there will be a number of options to make life easier, including a handy storage area under the passenger seats to allow the van to carry planks of wood and pipes over four metres in length.
Carrying capacity will range from 5.2 to 8.6 cubic metres, depending on which bodystyle you choose, and the largest versions will easily take three euro pallets and a maximum payload of 1249kg. All models get twin-sliding doors and a full-size bulkhead as standard, along with electric door mirrors and a height adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.
Exterior styling is almost identical to the Renault Trafic and Vauxhall Vivaro, although the Fiat version does get a new grille, headlight tweaks and LED day time running lights as standard. Entry-level models will be kitted out with Bluetooth, DAB and a full-size spare wheel at no extra cost, while SX trim (which adds £1000 to the list price) and gets air con, parking sensors and a fold down central passenger seat.
Crew cab versions will carry six with a second row of seats and start from £22,204 and mirror the spec levels of the standard panel van, while Combi versions add a third row and will be available from £22,889 before VAT.
