SsangYong unveils Turismo Tourist Camper
SsangYong has entered the camper van market with the Turismo Tourist. Based on SsangYong's large seven-seater MPV, the two-berth sleeper features an elevating roof, gas hob and twin beds. It's expected to reach showrooms in early 2017 and cost £29,995.
The interior has been completely redesigned by British camper van specialist Wellhouse Leisure, with a colour-matched elevating roof and a sliding glass top gas hob, which can be operated inside or outside the van. The cabin also gets a 25 litre fridge, fresh and waste water tanks and a rear tailgate awning.
The driver and passenger seats can swivel 180 degrees, allowing the occupants to stretch out and relax when the van is parked up. The seats can also be folded to create twin beds, with in-fill cushions and memory foam mattresses.
The Turismo Tourist Camper can be specified with two-wheel or four-wheel drive and features a 178PS 2.2-litre diesel engine that will tow up to two tonnes when hooked up to a braked trailer.
As with all vehicles in the SsangYong range, the Turismo will be backed by a five-year limitless mileage warranty and be differed with a huge choice of options, including cabin heating, mains hook-up and a solar panel.
