Volkswagen confirms high-performance ID.Buzz Cargo

Volkswagen is to introduce a new higher-performance version of the VW ID.Buzz Cargo, using the all-wheel-drive set-up and dual electric motors found in the sporty I.D Buzz GTX version of the passenger model.

With a 79kWh battery and twin electric motors developing 340PS, the new variant of the VW ID.Buzz Cargo has an expected electric range of around 250 miles.

It will also have a 0-62mph time of around 6.1 seconds, making it the fastest Volkswagen van ever produced.

VW also launched a long-wheelbase version of the VW ID.Buzz. However, there are currently no plans to offer a Cargo version as the company believes the new Volkswagen Transporter, due in 2025, will better suit those looking for a larger commercial vehicle.
