Sporty GS trim level for Vauxhall Vivaro launched

Distinguished by sportier exterior styling and interior upgrades, the Vauxhall Vivaro range has been expanded with the introduction of the range-topping GS trim level.

Specific to the GS versions of this popular medium van are its unique body kit including a front spoiler, sill extensions and rear wing, 18-inch alloy wheels shod with high-load capacity Nankang tyres and distinctive badging.

In panel van form the GS trim can be paired with the 2.0-litre diesel engine in 145PS six-speed manual and 180PS eight-speed automatic guises, as well as the battery powered 136PS Vauxhall Vivaro Electric, which has a WLTP Combined cycle driving range of up to 209 miles.

Vauxhall also offers the Vivaro GS with its double-cab bodywork option but only with the 145PS diesel engine.

Inside, the sporty Vivaro gets perforated faux leather seats that are embossed with the GS logo and finished with red stitching, plus the Comfort Pack, which brings dual-zone electronic climate control, keyless entry and wireless smartphone charging.

Also part of the Vauxhall Vivaro GS kit roster is the Winter Pack that comprises of a heated leather steering wheel, a heated driver’s seat and side airbags.

These features are in addition to those carried over from the Vivaro Pro trim level, such as the 10.0-inch HD multimedia touchscreen with integrated navigation and wireless smartphone connectivity using Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other equipment includes the FlexCargo load-through bulkhead, a fold-flat centre seat backrest that transforms into an in-cab desk or lunch table, plus safety features such as blind-spot detection, front, side and rear parking sensors, the Visiopark 180-degree reversing camera and LED headlights.

Colour choices for the Vauxhall Vivaro GS are restricted to Mercury Grey or Quartz Silver, although there's no extra charge despite them both being metallic finishes.

Available to order now the cheapest Vauxhall Vivaro GS diesel is priced from £41,375 (on-the-road ex VAT), while once the Plug-in Van Grant has been deducted the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric GS costs £48,940 (OTR ex VAT).

What MoT class does a Ford e-Transit require?

I am trying to find out what MoT class a Ford e-Transit 390 comes under? The gross weight is 3900kg but I have had different service centres say variously class 4, class 7 and HGV?
The Department for transport allows a derogation for electric vans, meaning those weighing up to 4.25 tonnes are treated in the same way as diesel vans with a GVW of up to 3.5 tonnes, allowing for the extra battery weight. This applies to both licensing and MOTs, meaning an e-Transit 390 requires a Class 7 MOT.
