Iveco reveals two new but familar-looking vans

Italian van maker Iveco has revealed two new electric vans, which it says will arrive in showrooms in 2026.

The Iveco eJolly and Iveco eSuperJolly were developed under a partnership with Stellantis Pro One and bring Iveco’s electric commercial vehicle range down to a new lower weight level, with the eJolly serving the 2.8-tonne medium van market.

Both sit below the Iveco eDaily, which continues to serve the large van and conversion market.

The eJolly has a gross vehicle weight of 2.8 to 3.2 tonnes with a payload of up to 1175kg. It has a height below 1.9m to enable entry into car parks and garages, and shares much with vans such as the Vauxhall Vivaro, Peugeot Partner and Citroen Dispatch.

It has a 136bhp electric motor and a choice of 49kWh or 75kWh batteries, offering 139 miles and 219 miles of range, respectively. Both will take a 100kW fast charge and have a 400v electric power take-off system (ePTO).

The larger eSuperJolly has a 3.5 to 4.25 tonne gross vehicle weight and offers a payload of up to 1400kg. It’s based on the same panel van base as the Citroen Relay, Vauxhall Movano and Peugeot Boxer.

Its 272hp front-mounted is supported by a 110kWh battery, giving a range of up to 260 miles.

Deliveries of the Iveco eSuperJolly will begin in the first quarter of 2026, with the eJolly following a few months behind. UK pricing and specification will be announced nearer the on-sale date.

What used van should I buy?

I have to find a new medium sized van quickly and am getting confused as to which to go for. I currently have a 2017 Ford Transit Custom which needs too much money spending on it. I had a new wet belt when I bought it and a new turbo two years later. I now find I need to replace both again and I've only had it 5 years. I also had issues with the adblue system after my turbo went so I am feeling a little sensitive about buying another Transit Custom although I love the van itself. Previously I had a 2015 Renault Trafic which was great until the fuel injectors rusted into the top of the engine so wiping out any value. I've looked at VW Transporters but they seem generally to be £3k over the price of the other two so am a bit wary of spending that much and would it be worth it? They are also scarce in my price range. My budget with borrowed money and finance is £11k although lower would be better unless it is a spectacularly good van then possibly £12/13k. Please help!
For your budget, a good choice would be a used Mercedes Vito with less than 100k on the clock. The pre-2019 models use a tried and tested 2.2-litre CDI diesel engine which is well-respected for its reliability.
