Volkswagen has revealed a new Sportline trim for its Transporter range, covering both the Kombi and the panel van.

The new Sportline variant sits at the top of the Transporter line-up, and there's a Sportline 75 version too, celebrating 75 years of the Volkswagen Bus. It's joined by another new trim, the Commercial Pro S.

The Sportline comes fitted with Eibach lowering springs that drop the suspension by 29mm. It rides on 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and has matrix LED headlights as standard. The bodywork is more aggressive, with new front and rear bumpers, gloss-black rear spoiler and black mirror caps. There's a gloss-black grille, too, with a red line running through it, and gloss-black side skirts to match.

Inside, the seats are clad in eco-leather with red stitching, and there are special Sportline mats to match. The steering wheel is heated.

Opt for the Sportline 75 spec, and you'll get a Moss Green solid paint finish, Sportline 75-badged mirror caps and green stitching inside. There's a limited-edition numbering label inside, too – only 75 will be produced.

The Transporter Commerce Pro S is less jazzy than the Sportline, but ups the spec of the van for those that want something a bit smarter thanm standard. It has 17-inch black alloy wheels, a front splitter and a rear spoiler, with black mirror caps, powered and heated side mirrors and a gloss-black strip across the grille.

Is a Volkswagen T6 a good used buy?

I’ve managed to got some funding from Bristol to council to trade in my old car for something that is Clean Air Zone compliant. The funding lasts until 21st November, so have plenty of time but thought I would get cracking as my current vehicle is starting to become unreliable. Things I am looking for are three seats total (in front) and insulated. I have seen a VW T6 van conversion with 179,864 miles at £10,995. What do you suggest please?
This sounds like a fair price for such a vehicle – a lower mileage on would be more expensive, but the T6 is generally reliable and capable of big mileages. As with any used vehicle, we'd suggest a thorough inspection first.
