The Toyota Dyna has been on sale in the UK market in November 2001 when the 300 range was introduced. The 350 models joined the market in February 2002 and to begin with both were powered by versions of Toyota’s 2.5 D-4D diesel engine. But in 2007 these were replaced by a 109PS 3.0-litre D-4D diesel, which in turn was re-engineered in 2010 to offer more power and torque, lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency.

It's not the most modern of designs and that's reflected inside but it does have a large glass area which means great visibility for tight manoeuvres. Headroom is good too but taller driver's will find it quite cramped for legroom and not ideal for long trips. However, the seats are good and can be reclined plus they have lumbar support built in. The steering column can also be adjusted for height and reach.

There's just one trim level in the Dyna range which comes with ABS, a driver’s airbag, side impact bars, electric windows, a multimedia audio unit including a handy TomTom touchscreen satellite navigation system that can be removed from the unit, Bluetooth, a USB port and a CD player.

The Dyna is available as a chassis cab, or with tipper or dropsied bodies, with standard, medium and long wheelbases and payloads ranging from 1000kg to 1840kg.
