Mercedes-Benz Sprinter – 195,456 on the road

The large Sprinter is a real workhorse, with excellent load-lugging capability. It’s been on sale in one form or another since 1995, with the most recent revision arriving in 2013. It’s the ‘heavy lifter’ of our list, ideal for builders and delivery companies who need a lot of space and payload.

It’s also a popular base for conversions, including tippers and minibuses. There are variants with gross vehicle weights of up to 5000kg which, though over the weight limit for some drivers, are very versatile for companies that need to haul bulky or heavy loads without operating trucks.
