The Hilux is one of the most-popular pick-ups around and it's easy to see why it sells so well, especially when you factor in Toyota's reputation for engineering and reliability. A 40.4mpg official rating makes it among the most economical too, with the 2.4-litre diesel certainly a lot more efficient than the old 2.5 and 3.0-litre units.
