My motorhome was stolen from my drive but why have I been asked for a statement?

I had my motorhome stolen from my driveway. While I was away, an insurance investigator came to my home to take a statement from me. Why is this and what can I expect?

They will want to know what security you may have, CCTV, any evidence of the theft taking place, any potential fraud risk, whether your version of events remains consistent. What social media you may use, has there been a means by which you have possibly been targeted? Aside from speaking with individual claimants, they also look to establish trends that may be occurring. Motorhome theft is rife at the moment and insurers are working hard in the background to identify theft rings and organised crime.
