A used car we like has a change of registration and respray in its history. Is that odd?

We're looking at a 10-year-old used car with one previous owner. While doing a background check, we found out that it has been resprayed from grey to dark blue, as well as being given a new registration only one year ago. What could be the reason for this? Should we be wary? Thanks in advance.

It sounds a bit odd. The best thing to do is to make sure the VIN (Vehicle Identification Numbers) match. You'll usually find the VIN at the bottom of the windscreen, driver side B pillar and in the engine bay. More info, here: www.gov.uk/checks-when-buying-a-used-car
