Shock absorbent

I recently bought a 2008 Mazda 6 estate, which I am very pleased with. I only have one problem with it and that is I often receive an electric shock when getting out the car and shutting the door. When I asked the dealer about this he said it could only be because of the clothes I wear. I wear the same sort of clothes as I always have and never received a shock from my previous car or for that matter from any other car I drive. Other people also receive shocks if they get out first. Could there be something electrically wrong with the car and if not how can I stop this happening?

It's generated by man-made fibres in your clothes rubbing on the nylon of the seat. You can discharge the static without getting a shock by opening the window of the car and slapping the outside of the door with the flat of your hand before you get out. Or wear pure cotton or pure wool clothes.
