Hyundai ix35 fuel economy versus Mitsubishi ASX

Due to the Hyundai ix35 fuel consumption problems, is the Mitsubushi ASX a better bet overall?

It's a better bet for fuel economy. But needs to be compared to the ix35 1.7CDTI 2WD which is much more fuel efficient than the 2.0CDTI.
