Taxing question

I ordered a tax disc online a few days ago and it still hasn't arrived. In the meantime the car has had to be towed by the RAC. It was towed to my home as it was sunday and the garage was closed. They have have offered to tow the car to a garage, but the tax disc still hasn't arrived.

Can they refuse to take it?

Should I put them off until the disc arrives?

If it's being towed it isn't being driven on the road, so should be OK. I'd phone the DVLA. Probably New year backlog, but they process so many that yours might have been lost. The DVLA released this just before Christmas: www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digital...f
