Will the DVLA give me the details of a hit and run driver?

If a car damages mine and does not stop will the DVLA give me the name and address of the owner if I have the number plate?

You can apply for the keeper's details through the DVLA if you provide a reasonable cause, but it is unlikely this would be sufficient grounds.

A better option would be to contact your insurance company, inform them of the incident and supply them with the vehicle registration. You can also report the incident to the police.
