At a minor road junction near where I live it is impossible go around it like many others. If seen by a zealous lawman could I be prosecuted?

Rule 188 of the Highway Code states 'Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so.'
It may not be possible to negotiate this mini roundabout without driving over it to some degree, but as long as you are making an effort to go around rather than straight over it we would not expect you to have any trouble with the law.
