Can I register a car but only include my wife on the insurance?

We will have a new car very soon, after a long wait. Unfortunately due to a medical condition I won’t be able to drive it for a while. Can I still register as the owner but only include my wife on the insurance for the time being?

You can register as the owner and only include your wife on the insurance policy, but it may be more cost-effective to have you both included on the policy if your insurer will charge a fee to add you at a later time. Having two drivers on a policy can help to lower the premium in the first place, so you may want to obtain quotes for both beforehand.
