Do you know of any forthcoming changes to VAG diesels, such as chain cam and/or less problematic DPF?
Are DMFs used on automatics/DSGs by VAG or Hyundai? Will VAG be introducing the more efficient 7-speed type DSG on their larger engines? If so when?
Does the present 7 speeder have the same "thump" problem as the 6 speed DSG?
I read Hyundai/Kia are to introduce a double-clutch box, do you know when and how it performs? How do the external length and height of the i40 compare with Octavia and Mondeo? Hopefully smaller than Mondeo?

I don't know of any move by VAG to chain cams. DSGs do have DMFs to protect the boxes from harsh torque reactions. Hyundais twin clutch box is not yet on the UK market. The present 7 ratio DSG has been known to hesitate on take off, but apparently there has been a software improvement. Most ahead of the game at the moment is Renault with its new chain cam 1.6 dCi 130, but its twin clutch autobox can't take the torque of this engine. The new KIA Optima (same basic cars as i40) is 4,845mm long x 1,830mm wide x 1,455mm high (figures from car by car breakdown).
