Not a good Sport

Having owned a Mercedes C220CDi previously, I am on the point of purchasing a twelve to eighteen month automatic estate. I would prefer the Elegance model for the level of trim but there are comparatively few of these available compared to the Sport model of which there are hundreds. I note from letters Telegraph August 13th, that you do not recommend the Sport specification. Why is this?

Because the 17” wheels with 45 profile tyres on the front and 40 profile tyres on the back harshen the ride quality, make the tyres and wheels more vulnerable to potholes, shorten the tyre life and the tyres cost much more to replace.
