Cars with 4x4 and a long (2m+) load bay - what do you suggest?

I'm looking for a car with a long load bay for moving large, long items and 4x4 for getting across muddy fields.

I need more ground clearance than the average estate, and a large, long load area at least 2m in length and capable of fitting long planks and furniture.

I know the Volvo XC90 has a folding front seat and long lad bay, but I've heard some realiability reports over the D5 engine and T6 engine. The other option I've seen is a Nissan Pathfinder but I don't know much about them.

I don't need a full 4x4, but they seem to be the only ones large enough to carry the loads required. Is there anything else I have not thought of?

I have around £8k to spend.

Subaru Legacy or Outback. Non 4WD, a Mondeo estate or a Honda Accord tourer.
