What mid size 4x4 would you recommend

I currently own an 07 Discovery 3 with 55k on the clock, which I'm really pleased with. Recently there have been a few electronic gremlins with the gearbox and I'm worried I could be in for some big bills.

I'm thinking of changing the car for a 2 year old vehicle. I like the Discovery, especially on long motorway journeys, and it's off road ability is good, but in truth it's bigger than I need - but I do need a big boot.

Road tax (£475) and running costs are expensive. What would you recommend? Budget isn't so much an issue it's just finding the right car. What would you recommend?

The more I see them on the roads I'm starting to think that the KIA Sportage is by far the best looking SUV, and you can get them with 4WD and a 2.0 litre chain cam diesel engine (or 2WD and a much more economical 1.7 diesel engine). The 7 year warranty is not to be sniffed at either.
