Sluggish A3 in early mornings

My 2005 Audi A3 2.0 tdi has a strange problem. In the morning when you pull away or when the car has been parked up for a bit and you pull away the traction control light on the dash flashes and the car holds back quite badly. Once the light stops flashing the power comes back and it's fine. Any ideas?

Probably the back brake calipers binding on because the pads have corroded to the discs and are slow to release.
