Pay and display ticket stolen from my motorbike?
I recently parked my bike on a pay and display car park in Matlock Bath. I bought a ticket and before I displayed it I recorded the serial number etc on a piece of paper.
I returned an hour later (and before the ticket had expired) to find a fixed penalty ticket had been taped to my handlebars. I noticed that my original parking ticket wasn't there. It had either been stolen or blown off by the wind. I challenged the FPT which was rejected on the grounds that "in a pay and display area a ticket must be displayed at all times."
I feel that I did everything I could to comply with local parking regulations and I feel it unfair that having paid £1.20 for the ticket I'm now expected to pay another £50 for something I had no control over.
I've provided the details of the ticket I purchased to the Central Processing Unit of Derbyshire Council but to no avail. It doesn't seem right to me and I'd be grateful for your comments.

It isn't right, but if this was a public carpark (classified the same as a road) and if the adjudicators have turned down your appeal, there is nothing you can do.
