Stalling Almera at low revs

I have a 1996 Nissan Almera 1.4 GL which has served me well for many years. It has now done 151,000 miles. Recently it has started to stall at low revs when the engine has warmed up. This usually happens at traffic lights or junctions when I depress the clutch to change down into a lower gear or into neutral. The car drives perfectly normally otherwise and I average around 40 mpg.

Throttle position sensor or idle control valve.
